Dive into Royal Caribbean’s Largest Cruise Ship, Harmony of the Seas
All aboard! Indeed, last week we were aboard Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Harmony of the Seas. Our team had the honor to board the largest cruise ship in the world! Distinctive to the Oasis-class ships is the exclusive and unique neighborhood concept – seven main themed areas providing guests with the opportunity to seek out a variety of relevant experiences based on their personal styles, preferences or moods. Did you ever imagine visiting Central Park inside a ship? But wait! They also had the Boardwalk neighborhood on a different floor that was inspired by both the seaside piers that dot the coast of England and the nostalgic boardwalks of yesteryear such as Coney Island. It even has a carrousel! I mean, can we live on the ship? Maybe open a DiMe Media office in there?!
Let’s start with the food because who doesn’t love food? We must confess that our first stop right after entering the cruise was Johnny Rockets. I know! Why have Johnny Rockets when you can have that anywhere? But we had to have fries and milkshake. We were obsessed with their paper hearts! <3
Well, now that our confession is finally out there, we’ll tell you about all the other great restaurants you probably would’ve gone to first. A selection of dining venues is available within Boardwalk, including the Royal Caribbean staple Johnny Rockets, as well as Sabor Modern Mexican and Starbucks Coffee. Central Park is home to some of the ship’s most popular specialty dining restaurants. Venues including 150 Central Park, Chops Grille and Vintages can be found here, as well as the addition of Jamie’s Italian, a Quantum-class favorite by world-renowned chef Jamie Oliver. We had the pleasure of taking a Wine and Cheese Pairing class with the one and only, chef Michael Schwartz who was accompanied with a cheese and wine genius, Dominique. OMG, if they offer wine and cheese classes, you have to go!
Dive into the Ultimate Abyss
Literally! You can dive more than 150 feet above sea level, overlooking the AquaTheater in the back of the ship. It goes from deck 16 to deck 6. For adrenaline-seeking travelers, this is a must! The moment you step on the entrance, you’re standing on a glass floor overlooking the ocean and the AquaTheater. That’s when you know that the Ultimate Abyss is no joke! Yet, the moment we got off, we ran back to deck 16th for another turn.
I Got Chills, They’re Multiplying
We took a trip to Rydell High and it was so good that they received a standing ovation. The Royal Theater is home to two headline shows: an all-new, never-before-seen stage production of the musical Grease specially adapted by Royal Caribbean Productions, as well as Columbus, The Musical!, a comedic, original Royal Caribbean production that recounts the imagined history of Marvin Columbus, Christopher’s fictional, down-on-his-luck, distant cousin.
But that’s not all! On the end of the ship, you have the AquaTheater. We didn’t know what to expect but we left with a WOW! The AquaTheater is an amphitheater-style entertainment space celebrating water with a full spectrum of activities including water and light shows, professional aquatic acrobatic and synchronized swimming performances. One of the most technologically advanced areas of the ship, AquaTheater is a complete sensory experience that plays on the element of surprise, as the latest technology and design features amaze audience members. Below you can get a little taste of what to expect.
Are You Ready?
Are you ready to take on this thrill? Next departure is Saturday, November 19th. Who needs a 7-day Western Caribbean getaway? I know we do. ¡Harmony of the Seas nos veremos mas pronto de lo que creemos!
