Latina Mom Bloggers Communications & Social Media Internship Opportunity

This unique internship will give students the opportunity to experience communications and public relations in the Hispanic market and community outreach sector. Latina Mom Bloggers (LMB), one of the premiere Hispanic blogging community organizations in the country will require interns to assist with marketing and communications efforts, with a particular focus on events and community outreach. Selected interns may work remotely from Florida, Georgia, California, New York and Texas and will support the marketing initiatives for our Fortune 500 clients during the fall semester of 2014.


Ideal candidates are undergraduate students seeking class credit or communication experience and studying marketing, communications, public relations or a related field with an interest in community outreach and/or Latino/a studies. Project focus may include social media monitoring, coordination with blogger community, campaign research, influencer outreach, calendar organization, and creation of digital/online content.


  • Exposure to the workings of an in-house communications and social media department within one of the country’s most respected blogger and influencer communities
  • Interns will have the opportunity to engage with dynamic and diverse staff
  • Learn about social media marketing strategies and planning
  • Gain experience in blog copywriting and editing
  • Learn how to develop simple visual graphics and creatives


  • Interns must be available to work at least 10 – 15 hours per week (those interns seeking class credit must work 15 hours per week to meet university minimum requirements) September – December 2014. Extensions may be granted for pay post initial semester credit.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred but we will take on any solid candidate with a proven passion and interest in the Hispanic community.

Key Tasks:

  • Develop and maintain LMB event calendar and social media content
  • Develop media and stakeholder list
  • Help develop campaign materials
  • Conduct outreach and follow-up with network members and influencers
  • Help draft newsletter and news release content
  • Carry out additional marketing and communications tasks as needed
  • Report on campaign progress
  • Develop final client recap presentations with senior team member supervision
